Includa was proud to take part as Platinum Sponsors of the Hunter Disability Expo, held over two days in Newcastle.
Across the event, the team had the opportunity to connect with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and other people working across the disability sector, sharing what Includa has been working on and hearing directly from the community.
One theme came through again and again in those conversations, and that is people want support that feels more human. Not just available, not just compliant, but human support that listens, that understands, and that genuinely fits around someone’s life.
“As a sector, we spend a lot of time talking about systems, funding and reform,” an Includa spokesperson said. “But perhaps we need to spend just as much time asking what genuinely good support actually looks like. If we did more of that over the past 13 years of the NDIS, you have to wonder if all this reform would even be needed.”
Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a conversation over the two days. We took away plenty of insights to carry into our ongoing work!
